I am now a registered voter
Finally, I can vote this coming Election. I took the day off to register in our baranggay center and we were met by sporadic rains and a messy, unorganized voter registration system. We arrived at the center a little confused as to what the first step was, where to go, who to approach. It didn’t help that there were people everywhere who were also as confused as we were. Nevertheless, I still call this day a success because, after more than an hour, I am officially a voter and can now take part in 2010, if there will be an Election. But if there’s someone’s who’s really happy, it’s my lola who live to see the day her grand daughters are able to vote. Well, okay, she can’t see, but she knows we’re now voters and that’s redemption for her because, as she always says, “ako ‘tong bulag, bumuboto, kayo na nakakakita, di kayo bumuboto?” Okay, nay, got it.
Now, let’s just see whether I can exercise my right to vote this 2010.
For those that haven’t registered, it’s simple.
(1) Go to your local barangay
(2) Bring two valid IDs and photocopies of each ID
(3) Submit to any barangay officer overseeing the registration process.

Hey KZ! I’m a proud voter too, only abroad in Singapore.
Good to see you’re fighting the good fight on the blogosphere. Check out my shared blog on the link attached to this.
Hey Kev! Well, registering is just a start. I checked the Comelec page to see if my name has already been registered. It’s not there yet. I think the late voters (or those that registered this year) will have to really check if their names are already included in the registered voters.
