Real friends are hard to come by. They’re the sort of people who would be able to put up with your mood swings, know when you’re mad, know why you’re mad, and know what to do when you’re mad. They’re the sort of people who will not take your emotional outbursts in isolation; instead, they know well enough that you didn’t just have these sudden fits of anger for nothing. They know something didn’t feel right for you and they want to get to the bottom of it. Real friends are hard to come by. They’re the sort of people who understand why you acted the way you acted, why you felt the way you felt, why you suddenly put on silent mode in the middle of a conversation. They know that though you’re silent (and very rarely so), inside you’re screaming like a baby in tantrums. And they have the right lollipop to stop you from crying. Real friends are hard to come by. They’re the sort of people who don’t always agree with what you say, even challenge your points of view, debate if necessary, and at the end of the day, still have mutual respect for all your differences. They like that you’re all able to fight off an issue and laugh about it afterwards. Real friends are hard to come by. They’re the sort of people know don’t have to put on masks and paper faces. They wear nothing but the suit of sincerity and genuineness. Their words are treasures you keep in a treasure box. They speak harsh truths if only to shake you from the lies you’ve been fed with by people who are great actors reciting pre-recorded lines. No, Phantoms whose masks are really reflections of themselves.
Friends are the sort of people who love you because you’re you, KZ, unique in so many ways, one in a billion, never quite like anybody, spontaneous, emotional, deep, provocative, tactless, never camera shy, thoughtful, hardly ruled by the laws of gravity, always available, hardly silent, too opinionated, a walking typewriter, adventurous yet easily disgusted, fighter, never a quitter, a ready smile, joke of the day, spells love as T-I-M-E.
I like this sort of people. You only get them once in a lifetime.
